The short version
The current Water Goose app requires no account and does not upload your hydration log, onboarding profile, or reminder preferences to Water Goose servers. That information is stored locally on your device. The website uses infrastructure providers that process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the site.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the Water Goose website at watergoose.app and to the Water Goose iPhone app when it becomes publicly available.
2. Information stored by the app
The current app can store the following information locally on your device:
- hydration entries, including drink type, amount, date, and time;
- your daily goal, units, quick-add sizes, and interface preferences;
- age, gender, height, and weight entered during onboarding; and
- the suggested goal calculated from those onboarding details; and
- whether drink reminders are enabled, including the hours and frequency you choose.
Water Goose uses this information to display your history, preferences, and progress. No Water Goose account is required, and the current app does not send this tracker data to Water Goose servers.
3. Drink reminders and notifications
Drink reminders are optional. If you turn them on, Water Goose asks for your operating system's notification permission and schedules notifications locally on your device for the times you choose. The current app does not request or store a push-notification token and does not send your reminder schedule to a Water Goose account or server.
4. Suggested goals
The app uses onboarding details you choose to provide to calculate a general-wellness starting point for your daily goal. The calculation happens inside the app. It is an estimate, not medical advice, and you can choose a different goal.
5. Website information
This website is hosted by Vercel and uses Cloudflare for domain-name services. These providers may process standard technical and security information—such as an IP address, browser or device details, requested URL, and request time—to deliver and protect their services.
Water Goose does not currently use advertising trackers, cross-site tracking, or a website analytics service. The website does not require an account.
6. Support messages
If you contact support@watergoose.app, we receive the email address, message, and attachments you choose to send. We use that information to understand and respond to your request. Please do not send medical information or anything else you do not want to share.
7. Your controls
You can edit or remove hydration entries and turn drink reminders off in the app. The delete-all-data control removes hydration entries, your goal and units, custom quick-add sizes, onboarding profile, and reminder preferences from the app's local storage, and cancels Water Goose's scheduled reminders. It does not revoke the device-wide notification permission, which you control in operating-system settings. Device backups and other operating-system behavior are controlled by Apple and your device settings.
8. Children
Water Goose is designed as a general-wellness product for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this website.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as the product develops. The latest version and effective date will be published here before materially different data practices are introduced.
